Workplace Mediation Ruth Valentine provides a service of workplace mediation, to help handle conflicts within not-for-profit organisations. Many people have experienced differences at work that have turned into destructive conflict, disrupting the work and often polarising opinion in the team. Causes of such conflict tend to be complex, related not only to personalities but to organisational changes, management styles, or the pressures of work with service users. Workplace mediation is a new and productive way to tackle this type of conflict. Participation by both parties is entirely voluntary. The mediator works with them to identify what they consider a satisfactory way to improve their working relationship. Any resolution must be agreed by both parties.
